Who we are
The Source Jewellery is a Dubai jewellery business and the retail arm of The Source Diamonds FZCO. We are responsible for this website and for the personal data described below.
The quickest way to reach us about anything on this page is the WhatsApp link in the footer.
The short version
This site has no accounts, no sign-up and no contact form. You can browse it, design a piece and see a price without telling us anything about yourself.
Two things do collect data: an advertising pixel from Meta, which sets a cookie, and our own analytics, which does not. Everything else stays on your device.
Advertising, and the Meta pixel
We advertise on Facebook and Instagram. To know whether that advertising is working, the site loads Meta's pixel, which records that a page was viewed and that someone pressed the button to send us a design on WhatsApp.
The pixel sets a cookie on your device, normally named _fbp, and sends information to Meta — including the page you were on, your IP address and your browser. Meta uses it to measure our adverts and may use it for its own purposes under its own policies.
This is the one part of the site that identifies individuals. If you would rather it did not, see 'Cookies and how to refuse them' below.
Analytics
We use privacy-friendly analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. It sets no cookies and does not identify you. We see totals, not people.
Enquiries on WhatsApp
There is no form on this site. When you press an enquiry button we prepare a message describing the piece and open WhatsApp — you send it yourself, from your own account.
Nothing about that message is stored by this website. Once you send it, you are in a conversation with us on WhatsApp, which is run by Meta under its own terms, and we keep the conversation as we would any other customer correspondence.
The designer
Your design is held in the web address, which is why it can be shared or bookmarked. It is not saved on our servers.
When you send a design, an image of it is saved to your own device so you can attach it to the chat. That file is yours; we never receive it unless you choose to send it.
Your basket
If you add pieces to a basket, that list is kept in your own browser's storage, on your device. It is not sent to us and it disappears if you clear your browsing data.
Cookies and how to refuse them
The only cookie this site is responsible for is the advertising one described above. Our analytics uses none, and the site itself does not need any to work.
You can refuse it. Blocking third-party or tracking cookies in your browser settings will stop it, as will most ad blockers and the tracking protection built into Safari and Firefox. Nothing on this site stops working if you do — you can still browse, design and enquire exactly as before.
Where your data goes
The site is hosted by Vercel and its content is delivered by Sanity. Advertising data goes to Meta. These providers operate servers outside the United Arab Emirates, so information may be processed abroad.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with anyone beyond the providers needed to run the site and measure our advertising.
How long it is kept
We hold nothing ourselves from your browsing. The advertising cookie expires on its own — usually within about three months, and sooner on Safari, which shortens it to a week.
WhatsApp conversations are kept for as long as we need them to answer you and to keep a record of what was discussed about a piece.
Your rights
Under the UAE's data protection law you may ask what personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we use it, and withdraw consent you have given.
Message us on WhatsApp and we will answer. If something we hold is wrong, we would rather know.
Children
This site is not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect data about anyone under 18.
Changes
If what we collect changes, this page changes with it, and the date at the top is updated.
